Our products are divided into four groups:

Wholes

Brokens

Granulated

Butter

Items in each group are classified according to the AFI standard which is an international system for classifying cashew kernels according to their characteristics.

So the basis of our classification is the unit of measurement Libra (Lb), where 1 Lb is equivalent to 453.6 grams.

In this way the whole cashews are classified according to the following rule:

When we say that a kernel is a SLW-180 we mean that in one pound (or 453.6 g) there are up to 180 units of cashew kernels. The same reasoning is used for the W-240 and W-320.

The higher the rating number, the smaller the size of the kernel.

SLW-180 = Up to 180 units of kernels in a pound (453.6 g);
W-240 = Up to 240 kernels in a pound (453.6 g);
W-320 = Up to 320 kernels in a pound (453.6 g);

Broken cashews are classified according to their shape:

B (Butts) = It's the butts, which is when the whole nut suffers some small break, but most of it is still whole;
S (Splits) = It is the split, where the nut is cut vertically and in the middle, resulting in two bands per whole kernel;
P (Pieces) = It is the piece, when it is completely broken.

And finally, the "Granulated" cashews:

SP = It is the small piece, when the "P" size is broken into smaller sizes;
SSP = It is the special small piece, when "SP" size is broken into sizes smaller than SP;
X = It is the xerém, it has a smaller size than the "SSP";
F = It is the flour, it is the smallest size that we can crush the cashew kernels;
